Open math tools →Start with the question, not the formula
Life Calculator turns everyday questions into separate tools. Search by purpose to find your monthly balance, scale a recipe from four to six servings, or compare two products' unit prices. If you know the formula, search for the Pythagorean theorem, trigonometry or logarithms. The directory also has eight categories: money, family, shopping, home, work, travel, math and health. Each tool has its own URL and scope. Choose the closest match and replace the example with your data; you do not need to learn every feature first.
Check the units before reading the answer
The same numbers can mean very different things in centimeters and meters, monthly and annual costs, or minutes and hours. Each tool shows its units and assumptions nearby, with worked examples, result explanations and limitations below. Prefilled values are demonstrations, not Taiwan-wide prices, personal standards or official rates. Valid inputs update the answer; complete missing data as prompted. Before copying the large result, check the breakdown and the basis you actually want to compare.
Separate totals, monthly costs and cash tied up
Family and life budgets can mix different time periods. The college tool separates housing months from food-expense months. Moving budgets distinguish refundable deposits from first-month consumption. Vehicle and pet budgets average annual costs by month. These distinctions affect cash preparation and cost scope; a single total on screen is not formal accounting. To compare lifestyles, keep years, people, currency and included costs consistent, then change one condition at a time to see where the difference comes from.
Keep shopping and shared payments meaningful
The coupon tool separates payment now from later rewards. Shopping comparison puts weight, volume or item counts on a common basis instead of comparing package totals alone. Split a single shared restaurant bill equally; when people pay in advance or share only some expenses, use group settlement and specify payers and participants. Cents are allocated by the stated rules. Transfers are settlement suggestions without banking integration. Verify offer conditions and actual bills yourself; the calculator does not determine promotion eligibility or guarantee rewards will be honored.
Save your own plan for next time
A favorite keeps the tool shortcut; Save as new plan keeps your current inputs. Loading a plan lets you calculate again, but changes are saved to it only when you explicitly choose Update this plan. Saving under the same name still creates a separate plan. In My tools you can rename, duplicate, recycle or export plans. Data stays in this browser. Changing devices requires exporting and importing it yourself; there is no account synchronization. On shared computers, manage your backups and local data, especially plans containing body measurements or participant names, so other users cannot access your planning details.
Understand what a tool can answer
Investment rates, inflation, taxes and prices are your assumptions rather than live market data. A loan calculation is not approval, and adult BMI is not a diagnosis. Date tools distinguish calendar days, working days and local clock times; they do not directly establish legal deadlines or cross-time-zone duration. After initial online preparation finishes, supported browsers can use the cached version offline. Save inputs before accepting an update and reloading. Read How to use and Privacy for details on saving, backups and optional anonymous statistics.
