Example result

Trip duration

2.5hours

For an overnight trip, change the end date to the following day. Use the flight-duration tool for different time zones.

Subtracts local clock date-times in the same region. Does not account for time zone changes or daylight saving time.

Method and scope

The tool subtracts the two clock date-times and converts the interval into hours. It does not convert either endpoint between time zones.

A fractional hour is a fraction of 60 minutes; 2.5 hours means two hours 30 minutes. It is not a decimal clock reading.

Daylight-saving clock jumps are not handled in this tool. For different time zones, use the flight-duration tool or first convert both endpoints to the same unambiguous time basis.
