Running pace and finish time
Estimate duration from pace or calculate average pace from duration. Choose the direction first so only the relevant time input is used.
Convert step counts and walking distance, or measure your own average step length. Each foot landing counts as one step, rather than a two-step stride.

Uses the fixed step length you enter, not GPS distance or a health prescription. The 70 cm value is an example; use measurement mode if your step length is unknown.
Kilometers = steps × centimeters per step ÷ 100000. Target steps = kilometers × 100000 ÷ centimeters per step; round up to whole steps when you must reach the full target. Measured step length = known distance in meters × 100 ÷ counted steps. Each foot landing counts as one step, rather than a two-step stride; count at least 20 steps when measuring. The 70 cm example is editable and is not everyone's average. Step length varies with speed, slope, surface and fatigue. This converts using a fixed step length; it is not GPS distance, completed device calibration or a health prescription. This page supports 1–300 cm per step. If your measurement falls outside that range, check the step count and distance units before drawing conclusions; it does not imply a physical abnormality. The tool does not infer calories from steps or prescribe 10,000 steps per day.
Kilometres equals steps times step centimetres divided by 100,000. Target steps equals kilometres times 100,000 divided by step centimetres, rounded up for whole steps; measured step length equals route metres times 100 divided by counted steps.
A target step count estimates the whole steps needed to reach the distance under a fixed step-length assumption. The 70 cm example is editable and is not everyone's average.
Calibration requires at least 20 counted steps and supports step lengths from 1 to 300 cm. Speed, slope, surfaces and fatigue vary; this is not GPS measurement, device calibration certification, calorie estimation or a health prescription.

At 60 cm per step, 5,000 steps cover 3 km. Walking a measured 15 m in 25 steps gives an average step length of 60 cm.
