Allocates costs by shares. Each amount is allocated to cents using the largest-remainder method; ties follow participant order. The transfer list settles balances but is not guaranteed to have the fewest transfers. No money is transferred automatically.

Method and scope

Totals mode uses the paid amounts beside people; itemized mode uses only expenses to avoid double-counting advances. Each expense is divided among its selected participants in proportion to their share weights, with cents allocated by largest remainder and list order for ties.

A positive balance means money to receive and a negative balance means money to pay. In the transfer list, the person on the left pays the person on the right.

Transfers settle the balances but are not guaranteed to use the fewest payments. A new round keeps names and share weights while clearing payments; this tool does not connect to banks or transfer money.

What to enter

Start with entry method, then fill the other relevant fields in the units shown. The field hints explain the required format and examples.

How the calculation works

Totals mode uses the paid amounts beside people; itemized mode uses only expenses to avoid double-counting advances. Each expense is divided among its selected participants in proportion to their share weights, with cents allocated by largest remainder and list order for ties.

Worked example

If two equal-share people paid TWD 800 and TWD 200, the total is TWD 1,000. The second person should transfer TWD 300 to the first.

Understanding the answer

A positive balance means money to receive and a negative balance means money to pay. In the transfer list, the person on the left pays the person on the right.

Scope and limitations

Transfers settle the balances but are not guaranteed to use the fewest payments. A new round keeps names and share weights while clearing payments; this tool does not connect to banks or transfer money.
