Example result

Net gain or loss

9,370.75TWD

Net profit or loss deducts the fees you entered. Positive means a gain and negative a loss; this is not a forecast.

Total purchase cost100,142.5 TWD
Net sale proceeds109,513.25 TWD
Net return9.36 %

Enter quantities in shares or asset units. Enter fees and taxes yourself. Dividends, exchange rates and deposits or withdrawals during the holding period are excluded.

Method and scope

Purchase outlay is purchase price times quantity plus the purchase fee. Sale proceeds are sale price times quantity minus sale fees and tax; subtract outlay for net profit.

Positive net profit is a gain and a negative result is a loss. A Taiwan stock lot usually contains 1,000 shares; entering 1 means one share, not one lot.

Use actual fee amounts because products and brokers differ. Dividends, exchange-rate changes, borrowing, short selling and leverage are excluded.

What this helps you do

Calculate a completed or hypothetical trade's net gain after entered costs. Enter the actual number of shares or asset units.

What to enter

Start with purchase price per unit (twd), then fill the other relevant fields in the units shown. The field hints explain the required format and examples.

How the calculation works

Purchase outlay is purchase price times quantity plus the purchase fee. Sale proceeds are sale price times quantity minus sale fees and tax; subtract outlay for net profit.

Worked example

Buying 100 units at TWD 50 and selling at TWD 55 gives TWD 500 before fees. With TWD 20 purchase fees and TWD 30 sale costs, net profit is TWD 450.

Understanding the answer

Positive net profit is a gain and a negative result is a loss. A Taiwan stock lot usually contains 1,000 shares; entering 1 means one share, not one lot.

Scope and limitations

Use actual fee amounts because products and brokers differ. Dividends, exchange-rate changes, borrowing, short selling and leverage are excluded.
