Monthly vehicle expenses

8,000TWD/month

Annual costs are divided by 12. Electric vehicle mode replaces fuel with charging costs rather than adding both.

Monthly fuel cost2,500 TWD
Monthly parking2,000 TWD
Annual costs averaged per month3,500 TWD
Monthly loan payment0 TWD

Annual insurance, taxes and maintenance are entered by you and divided by 12. Depreciation and unexpected repairs are excluded.

Method and scope

Divide annual insurance, maintenance and taxes by 12, then add monthly parking, loan and energy cost. For an EV, billed kWh equals distance divided by 100 times vehicle kWh per 100 km divided by charging efficiency.

EV mode replaces petrol cost with electricity rather than adding both. If your consumption already measures energy at the wall including losses, enter 100% efficiency.

Depreciation, vehicle purchase and unexpected repairs are excluded. Enter actual Taiwan vehicle taxes and confirmed tariffs yourself rather than treating examples as official charges.

What this helps you do

Combine recurring vehicle costs into monthly and annual budgets. Choose petrol or electric operation while keeping the other fixed costs.

What to enter

Start with monthly distance (km), then fill the other relevant fields in the units shown. Available calculations are Petrol vehicle running costs, Electric vehicle running costs.

How the calculation works

Divide annual insurance, maintenance and taxes by 12, then add monthly parking, loan and energy cost. For an EV, billed kWh equals distance divided by 100 times vehicle kWh per 100 km divided by charging efficiency.

Worked example

Driving 1,000 km monthly at 20 kWh per 100 km with 80% charging efficiency requires 250 billed kWh. At TWD 5 per kWh, the energy cost is TWD 1,250.

Understanding the answer

EV mode replaces petrol cost with electricity rather than adding both. If your consumption already measures energy at the wall including losses, enter 100% efficiency.

Scope and limitations

Depreciation, vehicle purchase and unexpected repairs are excluded. Enter actual Taiwan vehicle taxes and confirmed tariffs yourself rather than treating examples as official charges.
