Life Calculator

How to use

Choose from 86 tools. Search by everyday question or formula, or browse eight categories: money, family, food, home, work, travel, health and math.

Calculate your own answer

Prefilled numbers are marked as examples. Once you replace them with complete, valid inputs, results update automatically. Calculate brings the answer into view and confirms completion; errors bring you to the field or message that needs attention. Typing does not move the page automatically. On a phone, you can also use View result at the bottom.

Pick up next time

Add to favorites keeps a tool shortcut. Save as new plan keeps your inputs as a separate plan, even if the name already exists. After loading a saved plan, choose Update this plan explicitly to replace it. In My tools, you can rename, duplicate, recycle and restore plans, and export or import backups.

Add to your home screen

Each tool has its own shortcut and icon. Choose Add to home screen on the tool page and confirm through your browser. The first visit requires a connection; offline calculation is available after offline data is ready. Saving is limited to the current browser, with no guarantee of sharing with an installed app.

Scope and limitations

Child-raising, college and lifetime expenses are budgets you set, not Taiwan-wide averages or lifespan predictions. Interest rates, inflation and costs are entered by you and are not live market data. Loan estimates are not loan approvals; investment tools do not predict returns. Adult BMI is unsuitable for children or pregnancy. Working days can use Taiwan's 2026–2027 government administrative calendar, but shifts and emergency closures need separate checks. Electricity costs use your own unit price, without whole-household tiered tariffs.

Choosing the right tool matters more than adding data

Describe the question in one sentence: how much to save monthly for a trip, or how three people should settle unequal advance payments. Total cost, monthly preparation and who pays whom are different questions. Using travel savings, monthly budgeting and group settlement separately is clearer than putting every number in one form. Field instructions, worked examples and result limits appear below. If the fields cannot describe your situation, do not force mismatched data into them. Prepare data for the supported model or use a more suitable way to check it.

A complete first calculation

When opening a tool, check that it is showing an example, confirm mode and units, then replace the necessary numbers. Recipe, shopping and settlement tools allow rows to be added or removed for actual ingredients and participants. Only fields for the selected mode enter the calculation. Complete valid inputs update automatically; Calculate also provides error guidance. Read the main answer, breakdown and caveats together. After clearing or invalid input, do not treat an earlier answer as the new result. Use example to relearn the fields, then replace it with your conditions.

Saving and copying do different jobs

Copy result writes the answer to your clipboard; it sends it to no one. You decide whether to paste it into a message, document or another website. Save as new plan creates a separate local record even with the same name. After loading an existing plan, Update this plan explicitly changes it. Favorites, recent tools and named plans are different data; favoriting a tool does not save its inputs. The savings-target page compares two saved plans side by side. In other tools, load different plans to check them yourself.

A backup is not automatic synchronization

My tools exports and imports data. Import merges rather than replacing all plans already on the new device. There is a limit of 100 plans and the 20 most recent recycled plans. Follow on-screen guidance when size limits or invalid data prevent an action. Backups include saved inputs and recycled content without encryption, so keep downloaded files secure. Clearing site data, private browsing, uninstalling or changing browsers may lose local data. Before moving devices, export from the original browser and confirm successful import at the destination.

Conditions for offline use and home-screen shortcuts

Each tool has its own home-screen shortcut, installed only after you confirm through your browser. The first visit requires a connection and completed offline preparation. Seeing an icon alone does not prove every page is cached. Browsers and installed apps may have separate storage; shared plans are not guaranteed. Updates prompt you to reload open pages. Unsaved inputs may be lost, so save or record important numbers first. Offline use runs the prepared version; it cannot obtain new content or external data without a connection.

Check the model with an example before using your data

Hand-check an example to understand the direction: zero-interest savings add directly, removing included tax requires division, and crossing midnight requires a new date. Then replace the fields with actual conditions. Cost examples are not market averages, adult BMI is not suitable for every situation, and work duration is not a statutory pay determination. No registration, account, phone number or identity number is needed to calculate. Anonymous statistics and their opt-out are explained on Privacy. Disabling them does not affect calculations or saving; manage the choice as you prefer.

Keep it handy for next time

Add Life Calculator to your home screen

This icon opens Home. Confirm installation in your browser.

  1. iPhone: Open in Safari, tap Share → Add to Home Screen, then confirm.
  2. Android: Open in Chrome and choose Install app or Add to Home screen from the menu.
  3. In an in-app browser such as LINE or Facebook, use its menu to open the page in Safari or Chrome first.

Browser options vary. A shortcut does not provide cross-device synchronization, and an installed app may have separate storage. Export a backup from My tools first. The first load requires a connection.
