Example result

Monthly savings needed

6,250TWD/month

Monthly savings are worked backward from your deadline. Do not allocate the same savings to more than one goal.

Target amount180,000 TWD
Current principal30,000 TWD
Additional contributions during the period150,000 TWD

Compounds monthly with contributions at month-end. Uses your assumed interest rate; shows 0 when the future principal already meets the target.

Method and scope

Single-goal mode uses monthly compounding with end-of-month contributions; at zero interest, divide the unfunded amount by remaining months. Multi-goal mode calculates each monthly gap separately at zero interest, then sums the contributions.

If a goal is already fully funded, its additional contribution is zero. An emergency goal can be based on essential monthly expenses times a buffer period you choose.

Multi-goal mode does not apply the single-goal interest assumption or extend deadlines automatically. Do not allocate the same bank balance to multiple goals.

What this helps you do

Plan monthly saving for one goal or several household goals. Allocate each existing amount to just one goal.

What to enter

Start with target amount (twd), then fill the other relevant fields in the units shown. Available calculations are One savings goal, Several separate household goals.

How the calculation works

Single-goal mode uses monthly compounding with end-of-month contributions; at zero interest, divide the unfunded amount by remaining months. Multi-goal mode calculates each monthly gap separately at zero interest, then sums the contributions.

Worked example

A TWD 180,000 target with TWD 60,000 saved and 24 months left requires TWD 5,000 monthly at 0%. In the multi-goal list, enter this as 180000,60000,24.

Understanding the answer

If a goal is already fully funded, its additional contribution is zero. An emergency goal can be based on essential monthly expenses times a buffer period you choose.

Scope and limitations

Multi-goal mode does not apply the single-goal interest assumption or extend deadlines automatically. Do not allocate the same bank balance to multiple goals.
