Editable example

An example is filled in. Replace it with your own data to calculate.

Confirm the two amounts before calculating. The ordinary TWD 13.33 million exemption is subtracted once automatically; do not include it again in deductions. Use the linked official calculator if eligibility, property valuation or required additions are unclear.

Choose the year of death, not the year you file. Only 2025 and 2026 are supported.
6800 means TWD 68 million. Enter the estate total using the required tax valuations and additions, not one heir's share. This tool does not value property.
250 means TWD 2.5 million. Add only deductions you have confirmed apply. Exclude the TWD 13.33 million exemption applied here and exclude tax credits. Zero explicitly means no deductions included in this calculation; if unknown, check the official calculator first.

Example result

Tax bracket amount before credits (not an assessed bill)

5,217,000TWD

The answer is bracket arithmetic before tax credits, not an assessment or a bill. Credits, applicable interest and assessment rounding have not been applied. Zero does not establish that no return is needed. No tax liability is allocated between heirs.

Year of death2026

Net taxable estate52,170,000 TWD

Worked steps

  1. 68000000 − 13330000 − 2500000 → 52170000
  2. 52170000 × 10% − 0 = 5217000

Net taxable estate = max(0, estate total minus TWD 13.33 million exemption minus confirmed deductions). Up to TWD 56.21 million: 10%. Above that through TWD 112.42 million: 15% minus TWD 2,810,500. Above that: 20% minus TWD 8,431,500. Apply the bracket to the net estate, not the gross total. Arithmetic is retained to TWD 0.01 without asserting an assessment rounding rule. Tax credits and applicable interest are not deducted. The result is not a bill; zero does not determine filing obligations. No liability is allocated between heirs or recipients of gifts made before death. Special cases, including the doubled exemption for qualifying duty-related death, non-nationals or habitual residence outside Taiwan, are outside scope. No 2027 rule is assumed. Valuation, exclusions, deduction eligibility and filing duties require official confirmation. Keep names and identity information out of saved plans.

Who this is for

For an ordinary estate of a Taiwan national habitually resident in Taiwan, with death in 2025 or 2026 and already confirmed tax valuations and deductions. This differs from annual lifetime cash gifts and from dividing inheritance between heirs.

What to enter

Amounts are in TWD 10,000, with at most four decimal places: 0.0001 equals TWD 1. Include legally required additions in the estate total. Enter only confirmed deductions, such as applicable family, funeral or debt deductions; exclude the exemption and tax credits. This tool does not determine eligibility.

Worked example

Synthetic example: estate 6800 and confirmed deductions 250, both in TWD 10,000. Subtract the ordinary exemption of 1333 to obtain a net taxable estate of 5217, or TWD 52.17 million. At 10%, the amount before credits is TWD 5,217,000. The deduction total 250 is an assumption, not a standard for every family.

How it is calculated

Net taxable estate = max(0, estate total minus TWD 13.33 million exemption minus confirmed deductions). Up to TWD 56.21 million: 10%. Above that through TWD 112.42 million: 15% minus TWD 2,810,500. Above that: 20% minus TWD 8,431,500. Apply the bracket to the net estate, not the gross total.

Understanding the answer

Arithmetic is retained to TWD 0.01 without asserting an assessment rounding rule. Tax credits and applicable interest are not deducted. The result is not a bill; zero does not determine filing obligations. No liability is allocated between heirs or recipients of gifts made before death.

Scope and limitations

Special cases, including the doubled exemption for qualifying duty-related death, non-nationals or habitual residence outside Taiwan, are outside scope. No 2027 rule is assumed. Valuation, exclusions, deduction eligibility and filing duties require official confirmation. Keep names and identity information out of saved plans.
